An Appointment Made

I have an appointment to meet my characters.  An observation made as I thought about the storyline as it currently is, and where I want to take it.  (Reading good writing inspires dissecting your own.)

For my first meet and greet serious thought is going into having someone else be the interviewer, letting me answer off the top of my head and make notes.  Why off the top of my head?  Because too much thought, could contrive the answers to fit what I want and not what is plausible.

This is about learning these character are in my head. Finding what buried deep in my imagination can be used to give  character depth and motivation.  In the last couple of years I read/heard about this exercise in writing, at the time just seemed beyond me and my little writing.  Now, not so much.
